FREE Shred Day
Saturday, April 25
Ortonville Library
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

One step towards protecting yourself from identity theft is to shred documents that contain personal information about you, such as your Social Security number, account statements, credit card statements, driver’s license and birth date information, etc. We are pleased to again sponsor this FREE shred day for our members.

Gather your documents in paper bags or boxes and don’t worry about removing paper clips or staples. For security purposes, we just ask that you stay with your documents until they are placed into the shredder.

Be sure to let us know when you travel!

If you plan to travel this spring and summer and use your CBCCU credit or debit cards, you are protected against unauthorized activity. If transactions are made outside your normal pattern of use or in another state or country, a caution will appear on your account and it could be denied at the point of sale until the merchant receives confirmation that it’s really you making the transaction. Therefore, let us know when you will be out of town and how long, and we’ll code your account to help you avoid any inconvenience. We’ll also need your cell phone number so that VISA and MasterCard representatives can contact you for verification.

Fraud Alert

From time-to-time certain areas of the country have increased fraud activity resulting from stolen debit and/or credit card numbers. When that happens, CBCCU may not allow swipe and sign in that State during the time of the high fraud activity. These are states outside Michigan. If you are traveling and you are declined when using your card as a swipe and sign, always try with your Personal Identification Number (PIN). Even if a State has been flagged as a high fraud State, your card should still work if you use your PIN. Members who may have cards that may have been used at locations with proven compromise issues are notified and their cards will be reissued. This is handled on a case-by-case basis.

Annual Privacy Policy

The Annual Privacy Policy can be found on our website at cbccu.org.
